Firstly, a very hearty welcome to stockandladder.com !!!
Stock and Ladder is a stock market blog on learning to invest better with a focus on the Indian stock market. Inspired by Einstein’s golden words “Simplicity is the ultimate Sophistication“, the blog aims to study what works in investing to create a manual of ideas on simplifying stock market investing.
There will be no complicated stuff written here – no Greek terms like Alpha, Beta or complex mathematical calculations; just simple thoughts on investing as I curiously explore and study the various facets of stock market investing.
Where to Start
You will find my thoughts on the various aspects of stock market investing (strategy, ideas, timeless wisdom etc.) in the Investor’s Corner. Few popular posts:

Hi, I am Ravichand. My resume shows an MBA degree with a professional experience of close to 20 years in the financial industry. However, as Mark Twain said “I have never let my schooling interfere with my education” , I prefer to introduce myself as a keen student of the markets curiously studying various aspects of stock market investing.
A quick word on the blog name. The name for this blog is an attempted wordplay of a popular Indian board game called Snakes and Ladders.
Similar to the board game, the stock market also has plenty of “snakes” (like behavior biases, a short term focus, excess trading, herd mentality, etc.) which can bite you and can be detrimental to your financial health. There are also few “ladders” available ( investing with a long term orientation, investing in business you understand , investing with a sufficient margin of safety etc.) which can help you climb the wall of investing success.
As I proceed on this journey of studying various ideas of what works in investing and striving to get better at investing (by hopefully avoiding the investing “snakes” and catching the investing “ladders”), I would love to have your thoughts and company.
LET’S GET BETTER TOGETHER!
Happy investing !!!
